This unbelievable crown is a faithful recent interpretation of the imperial crown worn by Josephine Bonaparte at her coronation. The original was designed and made by Marie-Etienne Nitot, the founder of Chaumet, and jeweler to Napoleon. The crown has a long provenance dating from Josephine Bonaparte to the present Princess of Sweden who adorned the original in her nuptials in 2010. This wonderful recreation is handcrafted from sterling silver with a rich gold vermeil finish. It is 4 1/4" wide in front and has an interior measurement of 21". The 5 enamel panels on copper are modeled after 17th century panels which resemble the original stone cameos of the original Bonaparte crown.
