This wonderful depression era necklace was made by the Santo Domingo pueblo during the 1930's or early 1940's. It is 24" long with a 2 1/4" long x 1 1/2" center thunderbird and 1 1/8" long x 3/4" diameter side panels. It is made from a variety of repurposed materials including car batteries, giving them the commonly known name of "battery bird necklaces". These were often sold at railroad stops and have become increasingly hard to find over the years...
