This rare flamingo pin by Marcel Boucher measures 2 1/2" long x 2 1/4" wide. The front has metallic enamel feathers and beak, with pave rhinestone accents on the belly and neck. The reverse has a highly polished rhodium finish, and the safety closure works perfectly. Some of the stones are slightly dark from age, and there is a small amount of rhodium loss on the base of the feet. This unusual vintage pin is attributed to Countess Cissy Zoltowska of Vienna. Her designs were carried at the most exclusive retailers in the US including Bonwitt Teller and Lord and Taylor. This example is 1 1/4" wide x 3 1/2" long and is made from brass chain with faux pearl/glass bead accents. Although the pin is unsigned, it has 2 of Countess Cissy's design elements, crackle glass and fringe. The reverse has a trombone closure, and it is in excellent condition.
